Appraisals by Antiques Roadshow’s David Rago of Rago Auctions
Featured this year are presentations by renowned authors and experts on art pottery and by talented contemporary ceramic artists on both days of the show, with appraisals by pottery expert David Rago, who is featured regularly on the TV program Antiques Roadshow.
In order to continue in the concept of “Browse, Shop and Learn” and respond to preferences of exhibitors and attendees alike, the decision has been made to change venues to the historic Glendale Civic Auditorium. The Glendale Civic Auditorium has been recently restored and updated with new paint throughout and improved lighting, making it the ideal “vintage and new” location for the annual Los Angeles Pottery Show.
The Glendale Civic Auditorium (1401 N. Verdugo Road) is a charming, open-plan historic building built around 1938 in the Art Deco Spanish Colonial Revival style, giving a uniquely stylish experience of yesteryear which provides the perfect backdrop for antique and vintage art pottery. The Glendale Civic Auditorium is easily accessible from both the 134 Freeway off the I-5 Freeway and the Glendale (2) Freeway. The City of Glendale is conveniently located just 8 miles from downtown Los Angeles and more easily accessible as compared to the downtown Pasadena, seven miles away.
Ample parking for 500 spaces in the dedicated parking structure with elevators located just adjacent to the main building of the Glendale Civic Auditorium, with convenient accessible spaces available at reduced parking rates compared to previous venues of the show. The new venue will provide an at-the-door drop-off and convenient pickup area for larger purchases. There will also be a shaded waiting and resting area just adjacent to the front main entrance doors. There is also an adjacent overflow uncovered parking lot available, should the need arise for more parking.
Leila Ariel, Harpist
In addition to booths of fabulous art pottery and tile, this year’s event will have relaxing live music to in the concession area to enhance the experience inside the historic auditorium. Featured performers include harpist Leila Ariel and acoustic guitarist Ramon Cruz.
Catered concessions will offer an expanded selection of refreshments at a better value than at past venues.
